Creative Armenia and the Boghossian Foundation are delighted to present the 2019 East-West Residents, who will embark on a one-month creative residency at the Villa Empain in Brussels.
The artists selected are: art director, visual artist, and calligrapher Ruben Malayan and art historian and curator Vigen Galstyan.
“We are so proud of our artists,” said Lilit Makunts, who helped initiate the East-West Residency during her term as Minister of Culture of Armenia. “We wish them a meaningful and productive experience in one of the world’s great cultural havens.”
The East-West Residency program is the first collaboration of Creative Armenia and the Boghossian Foundation, with participation of Armenia’s Ministry of Culture.
"We've always believed in the importance of cross-cultural bridges," stated the JHM Foundation, the Founding Partner of Creative Armenia and patron of its programs. "The East-West Residency is a bridge that Armenian artists can now cross, as they find new experiences and horizons in Europe."
Creative Armenia, a global arts foundation for the Armenian people, pursues a mandate to discover, develop, and promote innovative talent. The Boghossian Foundation is a major international art center based in Brussels which supports and promotes cross-cultural dialogue, and hosts a rich artistic program year-round.
