Creative Armenia, in partnership with the Boghossian Foundation, is excited to announce the new cohort of artists from Armenia selected to become 2025 East-West Residents. This summer, photographer Toros Khachatryan, film critic Sona Karapoghosyan, and visual artist Tigran Hamalbashyan will travel to Brussels, Belgium for a creative residency at the prestigious Villa Empain.

During their residency, the artists will spend a month working on creative projects, collaborating with European artists, and exploring Belgium’s eclectic cultural scene. As leaders in film and visual arts and representatives of Armenia’s contemporary art scene, they will showcase Armenia’s dynamic creativity on the European stage and contribute to the local creative sector upon their return.

Currently in its seventh year, East-West Residency has already provided 14 artists with the opportunity to travel to Brussels and create impressive artwork and projects, making it one of the most sought-after opportunities for artists from Armenia. The program’s distinguished alumni include writer Ani Asatryan, screenwriter Artavazd Yeghiazaryan, and visual artist Khoren Matevosyan.
